How to decifier the translations

  • Most widely used translations(s) come first, followed by alternate translations.
  • All categories and/or subcategories they apply to appear in parenthesis. Parent categories are in lowercase and children are in uppercase. If multiple categories apply they are separated with a slash. Clicking on a category takes you to all entries in that category.
A few examples:

BKW Bent-Knee Walker (dolls)
This one is used in the parent category 'dolls'.
HTF Hard To Find (other, Item Rarity )
This one is used in the child category 'Item Rarity' within the parent category 'other'.
NWT New With Tag(s) (other, General Item Condition/clothing, Conditions)
This one is used in the child category 'General Item Condition' within the parent category 'other' AND in the child category 'Conditions' within the parent category 'clothing'.

  • Ranges: throughout this database you will encounter the following syntax that is used to indicate a 'range' of possibilites:
Mint In [Box/Bag/Bubble/Blister]

This syntax can be interpreted as:
Mint In Box
OR:
Mint In Bag
OR:
Mint In Bubble
OR:
Mint In Blister
  • Descriptive comments: descriptive comments given are based on research and user input and may vary from seller to seller.
  • Links: links to the manufacturer that manufacturered the product(s) are provided where found. Users can use these links to further research the product(s) and match product pictures and manufacturer logo's with what they see in the listing description. These links appear as: [ www.somesite.com ] in the data.

ABOUT THE ICONS
Indicates that multiple translations or conflicts exist for an acronym or abbreviation within a particular category and you should ask the seller which one they mean.
Indicates that a translation has been found that is completely opposite of their usual meaning and you should ask the seller the intended meaning.
Indicates that when you type the acronym/abbreviation into the auction sites search engine it will return listings for either the acronym/abbreviation or its meaning in the title.
Example: "MIJ"
This would return listings with both "MIJ" or "made in japan" in the title.
Indicates that a picture of a translation (product or company logo) is available. Rolling your mouse over this icon makes the image/logo popup.
Indicates that the translation has been confirmed by the manufacturer or customer service representative.
